What is Dermako
Dermako is my cyberspace username. All throughout the vastness of the Internet, Dermako, to my knowledge, is unique. Dermako is German, and roughly translates to "The Shark" or "The Mako" and more directly "The Mako Shark".
I have recently found out that Dermako is a valid surname with a long and colorful history.
Dermako is what I named my current Motorcycle back in 1999. After riding Harley's for 20 some years and having called EVERY one of them dubious names at some time or another, this one deserved something more.
The BMW K1200LT was, at the time, the ultimate touring bike on the road. The front end of the bike looks like a shark, just ready to eat miles off the road. So with a little research and keeping with the BMW's German heritage, Dermako was born.
License plate collecting has been a periodic endeavor for about 20 years. It started as saving or acquiring passenger plates that had some significance to me at the time. A plate from every state I had been to or a cool looking Bicentennial plate here and there. Around the year 2000 I started collecting plates from all states and figured that would surely be enough. Get all 50 States and be done. What more could a person want, right! In 2003 I sold off most all of my passenger plates and focused on Motorcycle Plates almost exclusively. Again with the intention of 50 states and be done. Well, as you will see in the following pages, it has evolved into a little more than that. When I complete my Birth Year Run, I'll quit ;-)!!!
The USA page is a US 50 State Run including US Possessions and Territories. Completed
The Canada page is Canadian Provinces and Territories.
The 1960 page is my Birth Year Run. If you don't see a picture of it, I need it. This is a dream quest to complete. Any and all help is appreciated.
The 1976 page is a US Bicentennial Run. Completed.
The 2000 page is a US 2000 Millennium Run. Need help here as well.
The Vanity page is an assortment of US Vanity Plates.
The Indian page is devoted to Native American Indian Tribal Plates. Being of Native American Heritage (Cherokee Nation), this is special to me. Always looking for more.
The Specials page is devoted to assorted rarities and oddities that do not fit anywhere else.
The Trade page is all of my plates that are for Trade or Sale.
The Wanted page is my wish list. If listed on this page, VERY generous consideration to anything on my Trade page is given. I will out right purchase as well as trade.
The Thanks page is a list of people and links that have helped me along the way. I would not have the plates I have today without them and in no way is all inclusive. Every person listed is rated 110% in my book to do business with. Thanks to all who have helped.
